The State Key Laboratory of Tsinghua University recently announced that its AlCrN nano composite coating technology has been successfully applied to the manufacturing of hydraulic cylinder piston rod. Test data shows that the wear resistance of piston rods using this technology is improved by 400% compared to traditional chrome plating processes, and the surface friction coefficient is reduced to below 0.15.
In the accelerated wear test simulating sand and dust environment, the service life of the new coating is more than three times that of traditional products, "said the project leader. At present, the technology has completed 2000 hours of actual field testing and is expected to achieve industrial application in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Several leading agricultural machinery enterprises have expressed their intention to adopt this new technology to enhance the reliability of their products in harsh operating environments.
